During the week of Memorial Day, The Carter Center has partnered with EmBODY WELL to bring The Carter Center staff a unique wellness series designed to get you moving on your health!  

Sessions will be held Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30 in the Renaissance Room twice daily (12PM and 4PM).   Your $20 registration enables you to attend any and all sessions.  (if you are interested in single registration, please send a message to Tanya @ embodywell@gmail.com.) Each session will feature:

-       60 minutes of music and movement, strength training, flexibility training, wellness education and a health and wellness tip/challenge based on a specific topic or area of focus incorporating one or more of the following:

o   GET A GGRiPP on GROOVE

Afro-style Dance Fitness featuring Caribbean Soca and Calypso, Hip Hop and Afro Hip Hop

o   GET A GGRiPP on POWER

POWER SOUL TRAINing – a combination of soul line dancing and bodyweight strength training

o   Eliciting the Relaxation Response:

Deep Breathing and Heart Breathing, Progressive and Guided Relaxation, Laughter Games

o   Getting NEAT:

Getting Fit while You Sit, Part 1: Cardio; Getting Fit while You Sit, Part 2: Strength; Getting Fit while You Sit, Part 3: Stretch; Keep It Moving

o   Eating WELL:

myPlate/OldWays African Heritage Pyramid/Vegetablarian Challenge, Getting Sugar Savvy, Read WELL: Nutrition Facts Labels, To be or not to be Organic, Color Matters
